Our History... It was in 1973 that Paul Bowlin, of Pocahontas, opened his furniture store in Batesville. It opened under the name Bowlin Furniture, was then changed under new ownership in 1991 to Batesville Furniture. The location was north of the White River Bridge next to the present Con-Agra plant in Batesville. In 1994, Charles and Robin Covington purchased the business and added TV's and Appliances to the assortment of home furnishings. Later, other products were added including Hot Tubs, Vacuum Cleaners, Grills, and Pool Tables. The Present Building, located just south of the White River Bridge, was built in 1998. In 1996, Charles joined with other stores to form a buying conglomerate called Mega Group. The group now has over 2000 stores nationwide and over 6 billion dollars worth of buying power. This allows Batesville Furniture to pass savings on to their customers. Charles is also Chairman of the Board and Past President of the Arkansas Home Furnishings Association.
Our Mission... Is to provide the best value in home furnishings, accessories, appliances and electronics in the Batesville marketplace. We will provide the highest level of service to our customers possible, at all levels of our operation, to help them achieve the home environment they desire. While always focusing on our customers, we wish to provide an environment for our employees that is fair, supportive and provides an opportunity for them to achieve their own personal goals.
